ORE'S FEATURED GEMSTONE: Favorites

Mom's Garden "Window"
My favorite crystal is not a crystal at all. Its a piece of glass that my wife and I bought in Hot Springs Ark. about 22 years ago. It has spent time in various flower beds and bird baths ever since. Each time we have moved , it has gone with us. A house just wouldn't seem like a home with out it near us now ! It's a kind of blue green color.
My Mother passed on about 16 years ago, and for some reason it always reminds me of her I guess because she once took it out of our yard as a joke ! Of course as soon as we missed it she put it back and let us wonder where it had been for awhile before owning up to taking it!
Thanks,
Jerry

Blue Rescue
Blue Kyanite came into my life about 4 years ago, I am HIV+ and was put onto a new drug which has revolutionized my life to the extent that I will live to old age, however, the side effects were destroying, I could not sleep and after 3 or 4 weeks of interrupted sleep I was near my wits end.
The drug makes you dream vividly, this word is not strong enough but wow it was like watching all the dreaming of my life in one night, in fast forward, volume turned up very loud and the color too strong and blending in together, my doctor said they would go away, but they didn't and I was getting desperate.
A healer friend of mine who live 2 thousand kilometers away rang me and said "I have been told that you must find some Blue Kyanite, and after I described what had been going on she understood. It took a while because we have a lot of rouges in Australia selling Crystals as a job and know nothing of them, but I found a 10cm piece that just sang to me, the minute I held it, was like going into a meditation.
When I went to bed that night I laid it on my fore head for a while whilst I meditated and then placed it under the pillow. I SLEPT LIKE A BABY.
It now stays on my bed side table, and I touch it to my head every night and sleep well, I ordered my dreams and brought clarity to them and brought them back to normal. It has been 4 years and it has my strongest connection.
Love to all
Derek

Melting Past Patterns
My favorite gem at this time is the Snowflake Obsidian. I have just recently gotten involved with working with stones for healing. My boyfriend (Scott) found your site and shared it with me. I am at a point in my life that it has become very apparent that I need to change thinking and behavior patterns. This gem has been very helpful to me to be receptive and aware of these repetitive patterns. I find the energy of gems and crystals very amazing.
Thank you....Phyllis

All About Amethyst
My favorite crystal is the amethyst. I have some lovely specimens. There are two that I treasure most both came as gifts at different times from a woman for whom I had the privilege to work as an assistant. She is also my Shamanic Healing apprenticeship teacher and mentor. From her, I enjoy an amethyst pendulum and a wonderful amethyst healing wand about 3 1/2 inches long (this one I keep wrapped in a Reiki cloth that she also gave me. I have some amethyst jewelry as well... a wonderful light purple Brazilian amethyst pendant and ring and a rich deep purple African amethyst ring,.
Hope my entry to the contest is the winner.
Gratefully - continue to enjoy blessings,
Christine Zielewski

Emerald Visions
My favorite gemstone is Emerald. Not only because it is my birthstone but because it makes me feel refreshed and energized. I think of the rushing emerald rivers of spring, in the area that I live, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, and the green rain forests teeming with life as I stroll through them. It can be very ethereal and fantasy like. I like the color green; life, abundance, energy, freedom. And I like my Emeralds. (Cheshire Grin)

The Herkimer Calls
Okay, my favorite crystal used to be my Lumerian crystal. Now don't get me wrong I still love my Lumerian but about 2 months ago I started getting a headache about 10 in the morning. No matter what I did it would not go away and it got worse until it was like a migraine...okay not a major thing to me I get them all the time.
As the day progressed my body started to hurt and I had this mad urge all of a sudden to go out. I didn't know where but I had to go out. So, I grabbed my wallet, jacket, smokes, etc and took off out the door for a walk. Still not knowing where I was going.
This was weird because it was like my body was being gently pushed and pulled until I ended up downtown and a local store that sells stone, crystals, books, music, etc. Okay fine...so I go in and I begin looking around, still not knowing what I am here for.
Well, I looked around and I found a few stones I didn't already have and proceeded to grab a couple of small raw blue sapphires. I headed over to the counter to pay and as I am there talking to the girl at the till it was like someone had put their hands on either side of my head and turned my head to the left to be looking at the display case on the wall beside the counter.
There it was! This blueish glow from the display case and I went over, looked and then without hesitation said to the girl I have to have that stone also. She came over and unlocked the display and took it out for me...it was kind of out of my price range but it was calling me and I wanted it. So, I bought it.
After I had the little stone in my hand all of a sudden I felt better. My headache was gone and my body didn't hurt any more. I said to the girl that I was meant to have this little guy and she told me that they just got them this morning and they were put in the display at about 10 am that morning.
I got home and told my mom and we both came to the conclusion that obviously this little Herkimer Diamond that isn't much bigger than a large pea was summoning me for a lack of a better way to put it. He wanted to come home and now he is a happy little stone. He sits in my window and sparkles like constantly. No one else seems able to touch him. I don't know why I call the stone him but I get the impression it is a male stone. It just seems to have a masculine feel to it.
Okay, so there ya go. My little story on how I got one of my fave stone the Herkimer Diamond. I love all my stones but the Herkimer had the strongest pull to it and made for an interesting story. Hope you enjoyed my little tale and sorry if it sounds kind of crazy but not one of my stones were bought because it looked pretty...they all told me somehow that I was meant to have that one...generally with a tingling feeling in my hand but never to the point of being dragged out of my house.
Bright Blessings,
Selena "Lunar Black Phoenix" Mills

First Pick
Well our [mine and the baby's] favorite crystal LOL is the one he himself picked out at the Mystic Festival. It is, in fact the only crystal we own.
I seen a row of necklaces just about his size, he is 2 1/2 years old. The lady took them all out and placed them on the counter, and I said okay honey these are for you pick one. And he picked up the black agate stone necklace and said this one momma. So I bought it for him.
And that is our favorite Crystal story.
Hugs to all.

Quartz Discoveries
Oh where oh where do I start? I have so many favorites, Mother has blessed us with so much beauty in our crystal friends. I have to say the one favorite I will always have is Quartz. Living in Arkansas I have the Blessing of being able to go and dig my own any time I want. I have been digging as long as I can remember.
My first major dig was a few years back when a group of us went. I was just getting interested in Metaphysics and thought it would be fun to go experience the energy of the mine. Well what was I in for...little did I know it would open up a whole new world to me. I am walking around not knowing what I was doing but playing in the dirt and mud...which was fun for me :)
Well from out of no where this lady came up put her arm around me and said come on let me show you what to do. She and I walked and talked....she told me I had powers I didn't know I had but they would start to resurface on this day...OK I was FREAKED OUT!!!!!!!! she reached down and grabbed a perfect point, She took my hand and placed the perfect little clear point in my hand and said close your eyes and let it talk to you...I was like Oh My God HELP!!!!! this woman is crazy....But yet I didn't want to hurt my new friends feelings so I did what she asked...WOW...The little point filled my body with the most incredible energy I had ever felt.
When I opened my eyes she said that is your pocket crystal keep it with you all the time...it will help....Well that was it I was hooked.......I started going all the time and found 1000's of points, clusters you name it I found it. I have now found a great little mine that is not commercial at all and can find the best little friends anyone can hope for. The drive isn't the best in the world, Those dirt roads through the mountains can be a little trying at times. But well worth it when you feel the energy from the earth full of crystals.
There isn't a room in my house that isn't full of Crystals and clusters and gemstones of all types...yet above them all the little clear quartz are still my favorite, They opened my senses to my powers and my life path as a healer and teacher.

Personal Point
I would have to say that my all time favorite stone is a Rutilated Quartz Point. It was my very first stone purchase. It has a very comfortable, soothing feeling to me. The rutiles are very interesting to gaze into also. It amazes me, the feeling of awe and power that comes to me from this point. I honestly didn't know exactly why I purchased him but had a real draw towards him and am now working with him more in a crystal class I'm taking online. I've made a special drawstring pouch for him, as the word "it" just doesn't fit when describing the stone. I find I am one drawn to stones shapes whether orbs, pyramids, points, or just plain unusual shaped crystals.

Brilliant Conversation
It is difficult to choose my favorite stone! I have a hand sized piece of labradorite that sits on my desk at work, and which has evoked many comments from my co-workers for it's beauty and then surprising flash of neon blue. I guess it is THEIR favorite!
Personally, I have a chunk of reticulated smokey quartz which I find to be very calming, soothing, and keeps me centered. That is my favorite.

Power Healer
My favorite crystal is the Green Aventurine because of its ability to hold massive amounts of healing energy that is released when presented to a recipient needing physical healing.

Maternal Memories
Tomorrow will be my birthday - my second birthday without my best friend in the whole world, my mom. I feel so lonesome as I face this day without her. On our last trip together to Canada, we both picked out a special amethyst crystal. Mine is about three pounds. Every time I look at it, I will think of my mom.

My Favorite Crystal(s)
by Stephanie Pflumm

I am surprised to find myself compelled to write about a favorite crystal that is not a Rose Quartz. Rose Quartz still plays a powerful role in my daily spiritual exercise, but I cannot deny that over the last year or so I have developed to very strong bond to a ring that does not contain my personal power stone.

Instead, the crystal(s) that I want to share today is actually a ring that my mother passed along to me when she left this life. The ring was originally a gift from my father. His way of apologizing for making her move every few years or so (he was in construction, houses). He had the ring set with a Diamond for every time he had made her change homes. It was seven times.

The seven stones are set with a center stone encircled by six outer stones. Mother also had six children, and I see the power of the family when I look at this ring. Feel the power of healthy roots that give you strength to reach for the most distant Sunlight. The ring shares with me the knowledge of the circle's strength, the ability to protect and defend from all sides.

However, the most cherished and wonderful gift this favored set of crystals has given me is the rich memory of my mother's brilliant spirit. That is the sweetest power of all.
